Castiel finds Crowley, and with Jo's help the brothers enter his house. To their surprise he shoots his henchmen and gives them the Colt, stating that he wants Lucifer dead because he believes that eventually Lucifer will kill all demons after the humans are dead. Back at Bobby's place, Bobby photographs himself, Sam, Dean, Ellen, Jo and Castiel, as he believes that this might be their last night on earth. When the team arrives in Missouri, Castiel sees Reapers everywhere. He tries to find out why they are there and is captured by Lucifer, who tries to convince Castiel to join him.

Castiel manages to appear at one point but is banished. When he reappears, Castiel is bloodied and bruised, and says he thinks it may be something more powerful than the Trickster - who appears and again banishes him

 On Bobby's tip, the Winchester brothers look into the case of a twenty-four year old man who apparently died of old age. They broaden their search to include local missing persons cases. While interviewing the wife of a missing man, she shows them a picture of her missing husband and says he always works a bit late on Tuesdays. Dean searches the house for clues under the guise of going to restroom and discovers a receipt from an hourly hotel in the missing man's jacket.
